DREAM TEAM BACK AT LA CABBIA!

Following a change of ownership of the La Gabbia restaurant Simon Taylor has been re-appointed as General Manager alongside Franco Pizzuti as Head Chef.


It’s a homecoming to La Gabbia for Simon who has managed and owned a variety of restaurants since returning to Newcastle in 1998, as he explained, “I joined La Gabbia at the end of last year but left in the Summer for personal reasons but jumped at the chance to come back when the new owners approached me. It’s a superb venue in a great location"

For Franco, who has become one of the region’s most respected and best-known Italian chefs since arriving from Rome in 1978, the appointments have rekindled his passion for La Gabbia. He said, “It has a unique atmosphere which appeals to everyone from students looking for an early pizza to older customers looking for traditional Italian dishes such as Ox Tail. We are in complete control of the menu and we’ve gone back to sourcing the very freshest and best ingredients with fish direct from North Shields, meat from local butchers and other ingredients from Italian suppliers.”
