Happy New Year to all our loyal customers and to those about to take their first step to becoming a customer by visiting our website.

We have some fantastic news and some important announcements to let you all know what’s happening at La Gabbia.

As most of you know, we started La Gabbia as a Bring Your Own alcohol venue and it quickly became one of the best loved Italian restaurants in Newcastle. Listening to customer feedback over the past year, however, many of the comments we received were telling us that whilst people enjoyed the savings of bringing their own wine, they also wanted to be able to buy wine and other drinks, whether this be aperitifs, beer or liqueurs, at restaurant to avoid the hassle of bringing their own.

So, after taking this on board, we applied and were granted a license in December. This now means that if you are just passing and cannot resist the temptations of one of Franco’s historic dishes, there’s no need to pop to the local vintners - we have that covered, giving you, the customer, the best of both worlds.

However, just like everybody else after Christmas, we at La Gabbia need to streamline a bit and will now be closed on and Mondays to allow us to get to the gym! This will also allow us to visit our suppliers and get to the markets to make sure that we only use the finest ingredients that our customers love. The restaurant is still available for hire on Monday’s for special events. Please contact us for details.

There is a new lunchtime and early evening menu with some tasty treats and a few additions. It’s recognised as the best value lunch or early evening menu in the area, so you really cannot afford to miss out.

One of the more exciting ventures that we have launched is La Gabbia outside catering. This is for business, home, sports clubs and any type of special occasion. After supplying some of the region’s top sporting clubs and many of the top local business we have decided to expand the operation. From simple finger buffets to a full dining service, we can provide it all! Please contact Simon at the restaurant for details.
